what a happy phantom i was wednesday.. skipping my class off to riverside church in nyc for some intimate one on one with ms amos the honorable.. snuggly located in harlem and gothic in every pointy way riverside chuch was too much to take in all at once.. the holy incense burning took me back to a greek orthodox church i went to one easter night.. so then sigur ros comes out of the pulpit speakers and i loose my shit.. this new album floors me as much as the new har mar.. tori says her wampum prayer before she walks out in a black and purple cloak over jeans.. and what are we to hear first you ask, well how bout some pancake, where the theme of the night begins.. GOD.. jesus, mary, and new york.. we are in chuch mind you so you know yr in fer a treat when tori is playing where she started way back when she was a tot.. take to the sky never sounded so fun like it did with the drums and bass. and cornflake girl woke everyone up, but the eerie version of crucify took me back to high school and thoughts of april ran past my minds eye.. solo time started off with china, first time playin it on this tour. then an oldie but goodie from y kant tori read - cool on yr island, more thoughts of april and i screaming the lyrics out in her kitchen some six years ago.. we also got sugar beefed up with tori yelling out "pussy" to us in the pews.. leather came out as an encore solo and perfect that way.. tear in yr hand with the drummer making little earthquakes on his drums.. ending with the dakota version of hey jupiter killing us further with memories of my attic room and jokes about seafood.. she made a comment before leather that i could relate to.. she told us how her dad told her she's come full circle playing in a church again, like she used to for weddings and such.. and i laughed cause i started my freshman year of college taking the first week of classes off to follow her around the east coast.. strange
