restful weekend with movies left and right..
donnie darko - saw this one on the plane to england and it floored me ten times over... i urge everyone to see this film cause it makes you THINK! wow what a concept.. ok the music is ideal seeing as it takes place in the 80's so you have yr joy division playin at the climax and you have tears for fears, duran duran, the church and of course echo and the bunnymen's "the killing moon" playing in the opening scene, get my point... donnie has psychotherapy, is fit, wears a uniform to school and has an intrest in time travel.. and to top it all off his english teacher is drew barrymore.. if only all teachers could look as beautiful as ms. barrymore kids wouldnt cut class ever again!
next up was pumpkin.. christina ricci's production debut.. her part as a bubbly sorority girl turned into a bitter, experienced girl is kinda cheesy, but to see christina in a grass skirt and making love to a parapalegic kid is near perfection! the music was tres indie rock.. belle and sebastian, gentle waves, emmiliana torrini, and mecury rev.. recommended for fans of xtina only!!
right so where was i...
cry baby - johnny deep looking sexy as he tries escaping prison in his tighty whiteys... and traci lords hanging out a car window drivin down the same tree-lined road used in desperate living!! music that makes yr soul feel good and jump up and sing and dance along.. download king cry baby and swoon now...
catch me if you can - predictable greatness that is steven spielberg.. leonardo and tom and chirstopher walken! the best actor since peanut butter... based on a true story and funny because the U.S. government is ripped off repeatedly.. a great movie for kids and grown ups alike! the only song i recall is the kinks "you really got me".
no more movies for a while. books and tea and maybe a trip to philly or nueva york..
