words and molecules that make no sense to me all for an exam i have tomorrow.. last year the kids did so bad they had to drop the low exams scores.. why do i even bother.. i am skipping the classes i actually enjoy today for the sake of pulling an all-dayer/nighter.. and missing radio station meetings of random nothingness.. but i digress..
the oh so wonderful feminist weekend..
friday night brought some local and not so local grrrls to the stage at the womens & gender studies building.. michelle citrin with her folky-go-happy songs about george street had the best stage presence out of all the perfomers.. gina young sang her heart out and played guitar with tracy dick tracy on bass.. anatara told us jokes about living in massachusetts and how her name is also the name of a brazillian resort and a mental hospital.. she had many sexual innuendos that were ok cause she was amongst "family" then came the newest band on the new brunswick scene.. like the yeah yeah yeahs but more trashy and songs running under a minute.. they were called the clap and they gave us their sass.. next up were the 303s, a trio which featured the secretary from the graduate department of womens studies.. it took them longer to set up than play which is always a bad thing.. lastly came the peppermints.. 2 grrls and 1 boy from san diego who wore the best outfits of the night - daisy dukes and ripped up shirts and leg warmers and mean faces.. whent the drummer and bassest switched it up everyone gasped and danced evermore.. too bad by this time it was past midnight and six people were left in the room..
saturday brought dueling competition from the feminist conference and the wrsu learning secrets music fest.. you can guess where i was and you'd be wrong this time.. i gave up the same old indie rawk for my most valuble learning experience thus far at college... hearing Tristan Taormino and Laura Antoniou talk about the history of BDSM and their views on feminism and the media's perception was hott and heavy! meetin up with chums from high school and talking to them about the stich-n-bitch upstairs in the DIY room was random to say the least.. then going to the second workshop on finding the g-spot brought back memories and embarassment seeing as i was the only boi in the room.. hearing these blunt ladies from toys in babeland talk about how misunderstood the female reproductive/sexual organs are was depressing but made some cogs turn in my brain about persuing this as a carreer upon graduation.. the vibrators and crystal wands were passed around as well as carfully drawn anatomical figures of wachee and whoa whoa.. suprisingly i knew most of what said thanks to having read a 15 page print out of female ejaculation way back when.. still i got quoted in the school paper for being there... hope i can make it next year cause its only gonna be bigger and better..
