summer plans solid up.. moving away from the soap opera life of no funswick for a clear my head out and get back down to earth in the woods.. packing up is fun without electric. candles keep my lil closet/room well lit thankfully.. no radio shows all summer i fear.. no interning at some indie label... oh well get it while it lasts..

so grrls rock better thank guys.. we already knew that, but these new releases should reaffirm the disbelievers!

ESSENTIAL LOGIC: lora logic from x-ray spex.. full of jerky guitars, funky bass and sexy saxophones! this is what all these shitty new york bands are trying to emulate.. maybe !!!, outhud, radio 4, and the rapture should listen to this and try again..

PARADISE ISLAND: jenny hoyston from erase errata! who wouldnt expect a crazy off the road solo debut! full of irregular electronics and some solo acoustic meanderings.. with the best vocals on the west coast!

NORTHERN STATE: 3 female rappers from Long Island!! complete with accents and sassy lyrics.. this is so fresh sounding and hits you upside the head like the first time you heard le tigre or the beastie boys!! smooth samples take over the whole album and harmonizing during the chouuses are all too much.. i see big things in the future for these three young ladies!

ASOBI SEKSU: Like Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine before them, this band merges wall of sound feedbacking guitars with pop melodies! Get ready for the attack that comes in waves of white noise and synth-driven melodies! The female vocals are in a mixture of Japanese and English!!
