baby crossed crossed an ocean just to see what could see, half the world beneath her feet a rose between her teeth. spent her lifetime lovin spent her lifetime livin fine.. since she broke her heart she needs a little time.. two stones in my pocket, girl keep them for my dreams ill give them both to you now you need them more than me.. your mothers arms will keep you safe wherever you may be. your mothers arms will keep you safe however you may be..

words of genius by best singer songwriter acoustic guitar player out there.. well under dylan that is. neil halstead. founder of slowdive and mojave 3. grew up outside of reading and swam in the same pool as suds..

he played the fez club in nyc ghosts and flowers last night and every song hit me in the face and jerked some tears from behind my eyes.. he took note of how the trains ran under the floor.. and people were applauding so very loud it was beautiful. he was a bit shocked me thinks. playing all our favorite tunes of the new solo album, and then some of the saddest mojave 3 songs that me and sophie and mahri used to sing broke my heart and the tears came out.. and just thinking about him up on that stage pouring his heart out kills me.. he had no help from his band members.. no rachel, no ian, no nothin. no memory either.. he couldnt remember what to play he was pullin songs outta his head.. and people were shouting out the most ridiculous suggestions.. slowdive songs like "dagger".. the encore was the highlight all mojave 3 songs including the one i yelled out.. yer feet. he ended the set with it.. talking afterwards i told him bout my trip to england and his old hangout the purple turtle.. and i picked up a remix single that is doing my head in as i listen to it all morning..

lest i forget to mention the opening band. ooberman. another band that suds, jasmine and i used to sing to.. well it was just two of them.. but it was still just as sad when they did shorley wall. its pretty fucked up when the opening band can bring tears to yr eyes.. the girl(sophia)sang the bit at the end of the song about a lost love. and i died. she was practically cryin as well. her voice told all.. they also made mention it was their first time playin in nyc..and the other 4 band members couldnt afford to come over.. they previewed a song by chatting up the crowd about glastonbury festival.. and they said they loved it there and i was clapping.. afterwards i told them that suds saw them at that festival and how much i enjoyed the show and they were so happy to hear that one person liked them.. everyone was laughing and calling them twee.. oh well they sound different when there is 2 of them playing all the instuments themselves... and thats all folks. thanks to jenn at beggars cause she got me in to the all reserved show.. and a seat near the front as well.. see you on rooftops..
