Dead leaves and the dirty ground

when I know you're not around

shiny pops and soda pops

when I hear your tips make a sound

that about sums up the white stripes show.. little jackie white greeted his first new jersey audience with a "hello children" in that all-to-well-known voice of his.. goosebumps my dear listening.. and then after dead leaves and the dirty ground he told us all about his case of bronchatis.. and how dissapointed we all were but how understanding we were cause they havent stopped playing in days.. and boy does jack sing! i cant even go into the night cause i have a quiz in an hour but let me just say whatever faith i was loosing in this band has been restored and multiplied.. yeah the drumming may be shite and off key but its all covered up for me by brother jack's insane red and white guitar playin shook my whole body in the most spastic manner and the thought still leaves me smiling.. ohhhh lord! as for the set list..doesnt matter i heard every song i wanted to hear plus 12 more..one and half hours of rapture numbing noise...highlights.. lovesick/jimmy the exploder/astro/apple blossom/suzy lee/wasting my time/ i fought piranhas/jolene/your pretty good looking/hello operator/lord, send me an angel/little bird/he's looking for a home...more i cant remember

oh - and they played all of WHITE BLOOD CELLS!

oh and jack made his "big sister" sing on of their b-sides.. 'rated x' and she didnt know all the words so he helped her and they sang the chorus together.. it kinda sad that she cant keep a beat or remember the words to the songs.. i wonder what she thinks during the show if not about lyrics. she must be concentratin so damn hard..

ahhh and the opening bands----- whirlwind heat .. from michigan as well and some sort of spazz rock with..you guessed it a guitar and drums..

and brendon benson with his band who he called 'the well dressed boys' played the most perfect pop songs for our generation and later on in the show jack and meg covered brendan's 'good to me'..and the teen filled crowd stared on in amazement..

if you havent seen this haul yr ass to the next show and catch peek a rock and roll history.. ok maybe i am exaggerating.
